Virginia (Ginger) Van Vynckt , creator and webmaster of MakeGreatCookies.com, is a writer and editor with a lifelong interest in food and cooking, especially baking. She is the co-author or author of seven cookbooks, including Very Merry Cookie Party: How to Plan and Host a Christmas Cookie Exchange. She was a food and nutrition reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times, where she wrote on topics ranging from (surprise) home cookie bakers to star-caliber chefs. She has always found the home bakers more interesting than the professional chefs. She bakes a mean cherry pie and is the proud creator of one of the best molasses cookies on the planet.
Barbara Grunes, co-author of Very Merry Cookie Party: How to Plan and Host a Christmas Cookie Exchange and author of The Best Bake Sale Ever Cookbook, has written an awesome number of cookbooks on all kinds of topics—well over 40 at last count—and is similarly afflicted with a sweet tooth and love of baking. Many of the recipes on MakeGreatCookies.com are hers. One of her many claims to fame is a sugar cookie to die for. Being an Anglophile, she actually likes fruitcake.
